01 /Keep the number people already know.
There is no need to replace the mobile number on your website, van or business cards. The service uses conditional call forwarding on your existing line. Calls you answer continue as usual; calls you cannot take are forwarded to trigger the text.
02 /A text from your business name.
Choose a sender name of up to 11 characters and write your message. A recognisable business name helps the caller understand who the text is from. You can say you are on a job, explain that you will get back to them or point them to a booking page.
03 /Give the caller somewhere useful to go.
Your message can include a website or booking link, letting someone learn about your services or choose an appointment while you are busy. Keep the message specific to how you actually work, and only promise a response time you can meet.
04 /A simple setup on your existing line.
Sign up with your mobile number, network and business name. The platform provides the forwarding instructions for your carrier and handset. A real test call lets you confirm that your setup works before deciding to continue. Forwarding availability depends on your network and plan.
05 /Protection against unnecessary messages.
Landlines, withheld and international callers are skipped. Repeat callers receive one automatic message per week, and you can add numbers to a skip list for people who should never receive an automatic text, such as family or suppliers.
06 /Your calls are still yours.
TextTheCaller does not answer the call or speak to the caller. It rejects the forwarded call and sends the message. There is no receptionist or extra voicemail service. You still follow up yourself, and the setup page provides the matching code to switch forwarding off.
